How to Speak the Language of Power Presentation [LW]
The Professional Teaching & Learning Center (PTLC) Presents: "How to Speak the Language of Power: Hacking into the Lizard Brain" by Lyam Christopher. The language of critical thinking is not enough. You must also learn the language of power, but don’t worry, it’s a simple, primitive skill set to master. Wake up your lizard brain and rediscover a much older, more powerful way to influence others. This event is free and open to the public. Sponsored by PTLC.

Workshop: Love Shouldn't Hurt, Moving from Victim to Survivor [LW]
The domestic violence awareness event will be located in the MLK Plaza. Hosted by the College-Wide Counseling Center and the Cosmetology Department. There will be domestic violence experts to speak on the subject as well as a film shown at 3 pm in CRA 101. The Cosmetology Department will be doing nail polish, hair extensions, purple-ribbon braids, and a bake sale. This event is free and open to the public.

Transition from LPN or Paramedic to RN Info Session [LW]
The Nursing Transition program at Palm Beach State College is designed to recognize previous educational and work experiences for currently Florida licensed Practical Nurses and Paramedics. Upon successful completion of the course pre-requisite requirements and a challenge exam process, the transition student is admitted into the nursing program based on the "transition track" the student selects. Once admitted, the transition student is then incorporated into the generic nursing program and progresses in the same manner as all other RN students. Session are scheduled for the following dates: Sept. 13, Oct. 25, Nov. 20 & Dec. 11. This event is free and open to the public.
