Civility Is Sweet Week [LW]
Come join the Civility Committee during the week of Feb. 13- 16 from 11-1pm for games, giveaways, food, drinks, prizes and to help us spread the word that "civility is sweet" during the month of February! This event is free and open to current PBSC students, faculty & staff. We will be at the following locations on the Lake Worth campus during the week:

In honor of Black History Month, Professor Africa Fine will share her views on five important books by African American authors. Refreshments will be served. Open to PBSC students, faculty and staff and sponsored by Student Activities.

Ed Planning Workshop: Nursing [LW]
Is it your first year in college? Are you a Nursing major? If so, please join us at this group advising session! You will learn about the required courses for a Nursing degree and a recommended sequence for taking those courses. By the end of the workshop you will be able to project your graduation date! This program is “hands on” and participants will enter their degree plans into PantherWeb. Reservations preferred, but not required. Please call 561-868-3602 to make a reservation. Sessions will be held on the following dates: Feb. 2, 8, 13, 21, 24 & 28 | March 16, 22 & 27 | April 4. Sponsored by Academic Advising and the Career Center. Undecided Majors Workshop [LW]
Are you undecided about your college major or career goal? Then attend one of our free workshops designed for prospective students and currently enrolled students, who are confused about what Palm Beach State College program, certificate or degree is best for them to pursue. Workshop activities are designed to help clarify career and education goals and provide continued exploration. You will learn how to identify your interests, research careers and relate your ideas to college programs. Advanced registration is required and you must have a Student ID to register.  Visit the website to register. Workshops are scheduled for the following dates: Jan. 10, 18, & 26 and Feb. 1, 3, 7, 9, 13, 16, 21 & 24. Sponsored by the Career Center. This event is free and open to current PBSC students. Cosmetology, Facial Specialist & Nail Tech Info Session [LW]
Hear about exciting career opportunities in the cosmetology, facial or nail industries and how Palm Beach State College can prepare you for entry into these fields. Attend one of these free sessions and you'll be given a program presentation, meet the instructors and take a tour of our facilities. We will be able to answer all of the questions you'll need to know to make an informed decision. Scheduled sessions will be held on  Feb. 13, March 13 & April 17 from 4:00-4:30pm for facials and nails and from 4:30-5:30pm for cosmetology. Are you interested in studying abroad? Join us for an information session on studying abroad in Costa Rica. Two Seasons Reading Series Presents Terry Davis [LW]
Terry Davis is author of the novels Vision Quest, the YA classic, as well as If Rock and Roll Were a Machine, an ALA Best Book for Young Adults, and Mysterious Ways. John Irving called Vision Quest "the truest novel about growing up since The Catcher in the Rye." It was nominated for an American Book Award in 1981 (the American Book Awards were renamed the National Book Awards in 1987) and was named the Best Book for Young Adults of the Last Quarter Century by the American Library Association. His short stories have been featured in Rush Hour, Guys Write for Guys Read and other literary publications. His latest short story appears in Girl Meets Boy from Chronicle Books and editor Kelly Milner Halls. Davis taught for many years in the MFA program at Minnesota State University, Mankato. He helped mentor Chris Crutcher, Terry Trueman, Alexandra LaFaye, Nick LaRocca and many other fine authors into the world of young adult literature. Terry Davis will give a reading and book signing. This event is free and open to current PBSC students, faculty & staff.

“Anything Goes” Musical [BG]
All aboard for this tap-dancingly tuneful and splashy Cole Porter madcap musical filled with romance, comedy and mistaken identity, all on a cruise ship. With classic hits including “You’re the Top,” “Blow, Gabriel Blow” and “Anything Goes,” you will not want to miss this romp. This musical extravaganza will feature students from the Maltz Jupiter Theatre Goldner Conservatory of Performing Arts. Tickets: $25 adults | $21 seniors | $10 children & PBSC students/staff.
