Come learn about the Link to FAU program! This is a great opportunity for students to receive enriched academic advising with comprehensive educational planning from both FAU and PBSC advisors. Link to FAU students benefit from guaranteed entrance to FAU, access to FAU advisors, scholarships, priority admissions to FAU and class registration. This event is free and open to current PBSC students. No appointment needed! Workshops are scheduled for the following dates: Jan. 26, Feb. 16, March 16 & April 6.

Is it your first year in college? Are you a Computer Science, Technology, Pre-engineering and Mathematics major? If so, please join us at this group advising session! You will learn about the required courses for a Computer Science, Technology, Pre-engineering and Mathematics degree and a recommended sequence for taking those courses. By the end of the workshop you will be able to project your graduation date! This program is “hands on” and participants will enter their degree plans into PantherWeb. Reservations preferred, but not required. Please call 561-868-3602 to make a reservation. Sessions will be held on the following dates: Jan. 31 | Feb. 6, 16 & 22 | March 1, 15, 24 & 28 | April 6. Meet faculty and learn about Sonography and the application process. Program is  limited to those with an Allied Health background. The free open house sessions will be held on the following dates in 2016: Sept. 22, Oct. 20 and Nov. 17 and in 2017 on: Jan. 19, Feb. 16, March 16, April 20, May 18 and June 15.  All open house sessions start promptly at 1:00pm. Movie of the Mind Screening: Selma [PBG]
Join the Professional Training & Learning Center (PTLC) for Movie of the Mind series screening of Selma (2014). Selma is a chronicle of Martin Luther King's campaign to secure equal voting rights via an epic march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama in 1965. Kerry-Ann Brown, Speech Instructor, will facilitate a discussion on rhetorical leadership, active listening, and intercultural understanding in a contemporary media representation of a historical march towards civil rights. Free snacks and drinks will be served. This event is free and open to current PBSC students, faculty & staff.

Quilt Of Souls Historical Narrative [LW]
Join us for the presentation "Quilt of Souls: A Historical Narrative." Speaker Phyllis Lawson addresses the role of post-slavery African American grandmothers through her memoir “Quilt of Souls,” which explores her childhood, her grandmother and a quilt that tells untold stories using the clothing of her loved ones. This event is brought to you by the Student Activities department and the Lake Worth campus Professional Teaching & Learning Center (PTLC). This event is free and open to the public.

Are you undecided about your college major or career goal? Then attend one of our free workshops designed for prospective students and currently enrolled students, who are confused about what Palm Beach State College program, certificate or degree is best for them to pursue. Workshop activities are designed to help clarify career and education goals and provide continued exploration. You will learn how to identify your interests, research careers and relate your ideas to college programs. Advanced registration is required and you must have a Student ID to register.  Visit the website to register. Please join us in the Lake Worth campus Counseling Center for free coffee, snacks and conversation! This free informal weekly gathering is open to students who are in recovery as well as those who support it. Coffee Hour is held twice a week: Wednesdays from 2-3pm and Thursdays from 5-6pm. Sponsored by the Students 4 Recovery club.
