Spanish Language & Culture Course [PBG]
Join Maria Garcia-Landry’s free Spanish course offered to faculty and staff that will focus on vocabulary for specific situations, such as ordering at a restaurant, taking public transportation, handling problems at the airport, sharing a meal with friends and family and more. Grammar will be taught in context, and the lessons will be conversational. The class is informal and participants will be required to speak and learn the Spanish language. Cultural aspects, such as singing, dancing and food, will be introduced. Spanish food served. Classes are scheduled for the following dates: Feb. 24, March 3, March 24, April 21 and April 28. Sponsored by the Palm Beach Gardens campus Professional Teaching & Learning Center (PTLC). Classes are free and open to current PBSC faculty & staff.

Is it your first year in college? Are you a Computer Science, Technology, Pre-engineering and Mathematics major? If so, please join us at this group advising session! You will learn about the required courses for a Computer Science, Technology, Pre-engineering and Mathematics degree and a recommended sequence for taking those courses. By the end of the workshop you will be able to project your graduation date! This program is “hands on” and participants will enter their degree plans into PantherWeb. Undecided Major Workshop [LW]
Are you undecided about your college major or career goal? Then attend one of our free workshops designed for new and prospective students students, who are confused about what Palm Beach State College program, certificate or degree is best for them to pursue. Workshop activities are designed to help clarify career and education goals and provide continued exploration. You will learn how to identify your interests, research careers and relate your ideas to college programs. Advanced registration is required and you must have a Student ID to register.  Visit the website to register. Momix - Opus Cactus Dance Performance [LW]
Known internationally for presenting works of astounding inventiveness and physical beauty, MOMIX is a company of dancer-illusionists founded and directed by Moses Pendleton. Each production focuses not only on the beauty of the human form, but also the beauty of nature, music, scenography, and life itself. Pendleton combines his muscularly sculpted dancers with unique costumes and props, sets them amongst artfully created lighting and light effects, and finally completes everything with a personally selected diverse musical score, ranging from Vivaldi to New Age to birdsong. After a ten-year rest period, Opus Cactus is back again with a new look, fresh energy, and fun surprises! Moses Pendleton brings the landscape of the American Southwest to life with his signature illusionistic style creating dynamic images of cactus, slithering lizards and fire dancers.
