National Library Week [BG] (Multi-Day Event)
National Library week will be taking place April 7-13 and the Belle Glades campus has a ton of great events to help you celebrate. All activities are free and open to PBSC students, faculty and staff

Fine forgiveness (Monday-Thursday)
Stop by the library any day this week to waive up to $10 in fines. Speak with a library worker. (Lost or damaged item fees cannot be waived)

Spin-the-Wheel Library Knowledge Game (Monday-Thursday)

Veterans Boots to Business Reboot Conference [LW]
Boots to Business Reboot is an entrepreneurial education and training program offered by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). The course provides an overview of entrepreneurship and applicable business ownership fundamentals. Veterans of all eras, Active Duty Service members (including National Guard and Reserve), and spouses are eligible to participate.

During Reboot, participants are introduced to the skills, knowledge, and resources they need to launch a business, including steps for developing business concepts, how to develop a business plan, and information on SBA resources available to help. Participants that complete an in-person B2B Reboot course can elect to further their study through one of many B2B online courses, offered at no cost to Service members, Veterans and military spouses.

This event is free and open to the public. Sponsored by Veterans Services.

New Faculty Experience [LW]
The New Faculty Experience (NFE) is a year-long series of dialogues, seminars, and workshops to integrate new faculty into full-time life at the College. Its aim is to make the first year at Palm Beach State as seamless as possible while building upon the unique experiences and talents that our new faculty bring with them. The NFE sessions will use their experiences and support for one another to explore all the College has to offer, navigate college policy for full-time faculty, enhance teaching strategies for our specific student populations, and build community. Celebrate National Library Week with a Breakout EDU escape room activity. In Lost in the Library, you’ll join forces with the Lake Worth librarians to solve puzzles and complete your tasks – “escaping” depends on it!

Medicinal Garden Walk & Sun Print Art Workshop [PBG]
As we approach Earth Day, consider how the Medicinal Garden on our campus can be a resource for teaching, learning, and making art! Meet us for an educational walk through the Medicinal Garden with George Rogers and a Cyanotype (sun print) hands-on workshop with Sherry Stephens. Participants will learn about the medicinal properties of the plants in this garden and then select a plant to make a surprisingly quick and easy, but also beautiful, Cyanotype sun print. Professor Stephens has worked extensively in creating alternative photographic images from what is grown here in the Medicinal Garden and looks forward to sharing her simple technique with you.

This event is free and open to all PBSC faculty.
