Student Activities Center Grand Opening [BG]
Join us for the ribbon cutting and grand opening of our new Student Activities Center on the Belle Glade campus. The musical group "I95" will be playing live music in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month and the grand opening. Refreshments will be served and there will be a Coca-cola bicycle giveaway for students. Sponsored by the Student Activities Department. Registered Nurse Information Session [LW]
The nursing program at Palm Beach State College focuses on nursing as a caring and humanistic discipline. Nursing encompasses evidenced based practice, the use of critical thinking and commitment to life-long learning. The goals are to improve the overall health and wellness, to enhance the quality of life and to meet the needs of our diverse community. Core values of the art and science of nursing encompass caring, compassion, diversity, ethics, excellence, holism, integrity, and patient-centeredness. The nursing faculty at PBSC believe in a culture of excellence that provides individualized, safe care for patients, families and communities. The instructional process is designed to guide the student to achieve mastery of the course learning outcomes through active engagement utilizing a variety of methods. The program time is divided among learning activities that include clinical, didactic, skills and simulation. Upon graduation, the student is awarded an associate in science degree (A.S.) and is eligible to take the National Council Licensing Exam (NCLEX) to become a registered nurse (RN). Sessions are scheduled for the following dates: Sept. 6 & 27, Oct. 11 and Nov. 1. This event is free and open to the public. For program information, visit
